A front-loaded week with a completely empty back half. Sunday closes a lunar phase with a Last Quarter in Cancer, Tuesday night Mercury backs out of Libra and into Virgo, and Wednesday sits at the exact midpoint of the Mercury retrograde. From Thursday the calendar is clear, which after the last fortnight is welcome.

Sunday, November 1: the tide pulls back

A Last Quarter Moon in Cancer in the evening. Last Quarters release what has run its course, and in Cancer what recedes is feeling: the intensity of the past few weeks pulls back, and something you were holding turns out not to need holding any more.

After a month that carried two stations, an Aries Full Moon and a Pluto square, a tide going out is the right shape for a Sunday. Let it.

Cancer’s version of release is specific: it is about what you have been carrying on behalf of other people, the worry held for someone who did not ask you to hold it, the emotional weather of a household you have been managing quietly. Some of that can be set down this week without anything bad happening.

Monday, November 2: nothing on the board

No exact aspects. The Moon moves into Leo before dawn and the mood warms and wants a bit of an audience. A simple day for ordinary work.

With Mercury still retrograde, Monday is better spent revisiting something than launching it. The launching gets easier in a fortnight.

Tuesday, November 3: back into the workshop

Late in the evening, retrograde Mercury crosses out of Libra and back into Virgo.

That is a change of subject, and it is worth naming. For the past few weeks the review has been about agreements: the contract, the wording, the negotiated middle, whether the terms are fair. Back in Virgo, the question becomes whether the thing actually works day to day. The method, the routine, the small operational reality underneath the agreement.

A useful tell for the rest of the retrograde: when the questions stop being about fairness and start being about workflow, that is the boundary crossing, not a change of heart.

This is also the sign Mercury will station direct in on the 13th, so the last stretch of the review happens here. Whatever the agreement turned out to be, the remaining ten days are about the practice underneath it.

Wednesday, November 4: the middle of the review

The Sun catches up to Mercury in the early afternoon, and this is the quiet middle of the whole retrograde. Mercury turned around on October 24 and turns forward again on November 13; Wednesday sits almost exactly in between, with Mercury passing between us and the Sun.

The practical meaning is that the material turns over here. The first half of a retrograde is diagnostic, the part where you notice what is not working. From Wednesday the same review starts producing answers instead of symptoms. If you have been sitting with an awkward observation since late October, this is the week it becomes workable.

Venus sextiles Jupiter the same morning, a small generous opening. Doors like that close quietly if nobody walks through, and a Wednesday with both a cazimi and a Venus-Jupiter contact is a reasonable day to ask for something.

One caution on the day itself: with Mercury inside the Sun’s glare, clarity arrives but perspective is short. What looks obvious on Wednesday is worth rechecking on Thursday.

Thursday and Friday, November 5 and 6: clear

No exact aspects either day. The Moon moves into Virgo early Thursday, which suits the week’s subject: sorting, tidying, taking stock of the practice.

Two empty days in the middle of a retrograde are more valuable than they look. This is where the reviewing actually gets done, without an event on top of it demanding attention.

If there is a system, a routine or a working method you have been meaning to sit down and sort out properly, the sky has cleared Thursday and Friday for exactly that. It does not do this often.

Saturday, November 7: a quiet close

Nothing exact. The week ends as quietly as it has run since Wednesday. Worth noticing what has stopped bothering you since Sunday; that is the Last Quarter’s work, finished quietly a week later.

The week in one line: A Cancer Last Quarter releases the month’s intensity, Mercury retrogrades back into Virgo and changes the subject from agreements to methods, and Wednesday marks the midpoint of the whole review.

What to watch for: Wednesday November 4. It is the turn in the Mercury cycle, and it is quiet enough to miss. Whatever the last ten days showed you about how something actually works, this is where it starts pointing at an answer.
